SBC 1000/2000 4.1.x : Testing Network Connections

The Sonus SBC 1000/2000 provides functionality for using and Ping and Traceroute.

Ping

To ping a device:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Diagnostics tab.
  2. in the left navigation pane, go to Tools > Ping Destination.

Ping Options - Field Definitions

Destination

The IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name of the destination machine.

Interface

Specifies the physical interface on the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 over which the ping traffic is sent.

Timeout

Specifies the maximum time, in seconds, that the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 waits for a response to a ping.

Count

Specifies the number of times to a ping.

Interval

Specifies the interval, in seconds, between pings.

Packet Size

Specifies the payload size of the packet sent. Total packet size is the specified value plus 8 bytes.

Traceroute to Destination

To trace the hops to a destination:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Diagnostics tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Tools > Traceroute to Destination.

Destination

Specifies the IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name of the machine to which a route is traced.

Timeout

Specifies the maximum time, in seconds, that the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 waits for a response for each hop.

Maximum Hops

Specifies the maximum number of hops before terminating.
